Acually bats do fly. They are the only mammals that can "fly", because things like sugargliders and gliding squirrels cannot create thrust by flapping their wings because technically they don't have any. Bats can gain altitude without wind by flapping. If you look at a bat's wing you will find it both resembles a human hand and a bird wing.
