Why did swan hunters close down?

Answer 1

Swan hunting in the United States largely ceased due to conservation efforts and legal protections for swans, particularly the mute swan, which is a non-native species that became protected under various wildlife laws. Additionally, increasing public awareness and appreciation for wildlife led to a decline in hunting interest. Environmental concerns and the desire to preserve biodiversity also contributed to the closure of swan hunting activities.
