the doves sat on eggs for threeweeks then flew away. will they come back. how long do doves live. they make a nest on my window between the screen. they were in the same spot two years ago. and hatched two babies. Also if you came too close to the eggs and the mother bird saw you it doesn't come to the nest taking you a threat and not wanting to go anywhere near you.

How long can a seagull's egg be left unattended before dying?

Seagull eggs can typically be left unattended for about 24 to 48 hours before the embryos inside start to suffer from temperature fluctuations and potential dehydration. However, this can vary depending on environmental conditions, such as temperature and humidity. If the eggs remain unattended for too long, the likelihood of survival decreases significantly. It's essential for the parent birds to return and incubate the eggs to ensure their development.

Is it possible that if a mother dove leaves her eggs for one day can they still hatch?

They won't if they go cold, which will likely happen if she leaves the nest, unless the eggs are artificially incubated, instead of the mothers heat, the growing chicks inside will die. It appears mother ducks will leave the nest during the laying phase and as long as it doesn't get below freezing outside, the eggs will do fine!
