An outdrive can be damaged by a variety of factors, including striking underwater obstacles like rocks or logs, which can cause physical damage to the propeller or housing. Overheating due to low lubrication levels or a clogged water intake can also lead to significant damage. Additionally, corrosion from saltwater exposure or improper maintenance can weaken components over time. Regular inspections and maintenance are crucial to prevent these issues.
