Fiberglass boats are preferred for several reasons: they are lightweight yet durable, providing excellent strength-to-weight ratios that enhance performance and fuel efficiency. Additionally, fiberglass is resistant to corrosion and rot, minimizing maintenance costs and enhancing longevity. The material can also be molded into complex shapes, allowing for greater design flexibility and aesthetic appeal. Lastly, fiberglass boats tend to have a smoother finish, which improves hydrodynamics and overall sailing experience.
all i know is fibreglass is on boats pools are made of it and fibreglass is a fibre
Plastic reinforced by fibreglass, along with some plastic foam for certain parts of the boats.
Wood boats are way heavier than fibreglass boat because wood boats are highly maneuverable and track well unlike fibreglass boat that has gained in popularity over wood and metal because of the relative simplicity of construction. So it means that the materials being used in contructing a fibreglass boat are lighter materials.

WOOD
Barnacles grow on wooden, fibreglass and steel boats. They grow on rocks sometimes. They grow on mussel shells, and on branches/ logs that have been floating in the sea a long time.

Fibreglass tanks are good but for the concrete tanks they are provided with a anti corrosive layer which prevents it from corrosion and they are also very strong. It is better to shift to concrete tanks
Some boats are made with wood. Which luckily you can watch the process of how traditional boats are made. Watch full video on youtube @insideghana1957
