Submarines sink vessels by using stealth (hiding).
something dangerous
No. German U-boats had ordinary, Arabic numerals, such U96 and so.
no, boats made out of goat skin are dangerous
If you are meaning to U-boats as in World War two? Than U-boats certainly mean "Underwater Boats"
U-boat stands for underwater boat. They were essentially the first submarine. No other countries had these which made them very dangerous. Also sonar wasn't very developed so they couldn't detect them. The U-boats also had torpedoes to sink enemy vessels. Also, enemy vessels didn't really have any weapons tocounter the U-boat. Hope this answers your question!

German U-boats were used to sink mainly merchant ships, so as to starve Britain of food supplies and ammunition.
they were used to get in to small places that certain sub marines couldn't get into so the U-Boats could kill easier.
U-boats=Submarines
They had over 1,000 U-Boats They had over 1,000 U-Boats
Like almost any other nation's submarines; they were just subs. It just so happens that Germans call their subs U-boats (under-sea boats).
U-boats were German.
