no of course not, people have a choice you either read them or not, same as movies, see them or not, banning and censuring books and movies is something they do in dictatorships not in free countries!!!!

The creators of Stranger Things (the Duffer Brothers) were inspired by horror movies, books (mostly by Stephen king) and sci-fi movies (like ET)
There are still many banned books even today. Some banned books have become unbanned.
If you haven't read the books or seen the movies, the best thing to do is to read the books first, then you will know when there are scary parts. Personally I don't find them frightfull, they say the genre is horror, but it's more a romance.
Most public libraries support banned books.
I think they should add them after the other movies!
