You didn't give us enough information to give you an informative answer and we'd appreciate it if you could give us a better explanation. There are several reasons why you could and should know about a sister, but have to keep it quiet and not act like she is your sister and here are a few: * One parent had an affair and had a daughter with the other woman which would make her your step sister. In other words a different male partner other than your father (the reverse is true also.) * Your mother could have had a daughter out of wedlock and another relative is looking after them and thus, that is their daughter, making her possibly your cousin (but, in fact, she's your sister.) * Your mother could have given birth to a daughter while married and given her up for adoption. * Your parents could have lived in Another Country leaving a daughter behind with a relative for reasons only they know and have not told any future children. These are a few scenarios. We hope that you post under this and give us a little more information so we can help you. No matter what it is you (if not a minor) have the right to know who your sister is.
