Most digital camera sensors are sensitive to a small range of IR, as well as visible light.
why we use LED in a hidden CCD camera?
To create a DIY IR filter for your camera, you can use a piece of developed film or a floppy disk. Remove the film or disk from its casing and cut it to fit over your camera lens. This material will block visible light and allow only infrared light to pass through, creating an IR filter for your camera.
The touch screen feature requires either a screen or a plate(digitizer) you put in front of the screen. Then the touch inputs can be received by the computer via USB(Serial in the old days). Some of the systems can use a camera or IR led's(early HP touch smart PCs) to see your finger location as well.
If a circuit requires an IR LED, it requires an IR LED, there is no replacement. If a circuit does not require an IR LED, there is no need to look for a replacement.
IR LED will be having connecting leads same as ordinary LED. When ever we use IR LED, which works like a transmitter we have to connect a photo diode as a receiver (very near to IR LED). So as we know IR LED keeps on emitting IR radiations photo diode will keeps on receiving, it in a reflecting surface. In case if the surface not reflect IR radiation(Black surface obsorbs IR). the input to the photo diode becomes nil, and photo diode wont work and hence the circuit. inform.mayaprasad@gmail.com
You can buy these particular cameras on several websites, including Ebay. If you don't wish to make your purchase online, then you can go to Comcast and they can help you get one of these and even install it for you.
An IR Illuminator is necessary to draw light when taking photos or videos with a camera. It illuminates with infrared technology and allows one to see beyond what they normally would without the light source.
Infrared radiation (IR)
An IR camera captures infrared light, while a thermal camera detects heat emitted by objects. This difference impacts their functionalities as IR cameras are used for night vision and detecting temperature differences, while thermal cameras are used for measuring temperature and identifying heat sources.
IR stands for infrared - the energy just below red light. Some of the digital camera sensors on satellites are sensitive to IR, and most consumer digital cameras are sensitive to IR to some extent, but have built-in filters to block it. These can be converted to IR by replacing the filter with a clear piece of glass. In the film era, there were special IR-sensitive films, that had to be handled very carefully.
Infrared (IR) photos are taken with normal cameras using infrared film. The difference is the film used, not the camera. IR film is sensitive to the IR spectrum of light, not the visible spectrum.
Most computers don't have IR ports anymore, but older laptops usually had them on the side. Desktop computers had them on the front. They will be somewhere on the computer where you would expect them to be visible in a normal home setup, since IR transmitions require line-of-sight. So they won't be on the back of the computer or anything like that. The IR port will look like a dark redish area of smooth shiny plastic on the case. A cool trick for finding IR ports is to turn out all the lights and get a digital camera or video camera and you will be able to see a white light coming from the IR port. Most digital or video cameras can see infrared (IR) light, even though the human can not. -DJ Craig
