It depends. Chemical Engineering is a fascinating subject. As an applied field os study, it requires good physics and mathematics skill. Remeber chemistry knowledge is key also. As any field if you are dedicated to study it, it is possible to succeed. But I advice is there an interest to study the field. Then working hard will determine the achievement.

Yes but No at the same time.

Chemical Engineering starts of with a few basic science and engineering courses which help with your general understanding of chemistry. They follow this up with a large amount of thermodynamics, physics and mathematics. From here it moves to process'es and understanding of industrial production of chemicals and products.

In a nutshell its a intellectually stimulating course and requires significant work commitment but it isn't impossible for even a average student to pass.

If you like problem solving and like chemistry, physics or mathematics, then you should consider studying it.

Certain aspects of mechanical engineering are indeed hard. Many find thermal dynamics the most difficult. Parts of machine design can be difficult too. Try calculating the shape of a gear tooth to minimize friction!

While mechanical engineering involves lots of math, most of the daily activity of a mechanical engineer involves using computer tools (Computer Aided Design) to create things. It is very satisfying work.
