What is FDPT Pipe?

FDPT pipe, or Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Dual Pipe Technology, is a type of pipe made from a composite material that combines fiberglass and resin, providing enhanced strength and durability. This technology is often used in applications requiring resistance to corrosion, chemicals, and extreme temperatures, making it suitable for industries like oil and gas, water treatment, and construction. The dual-layer design typically consists of an inner pipe for fluid transport and an outer layer for added protection and structural integrity. FDPT pipes are lightweight, easy to install, and offer a long service life compared to traditional piping materials.

What are the steps to thread iron pipe?

You use a Die to cut the threads. A Die is like a nut for a bolt. It is designed to screw onto the end of the pipe and cut the threads. Clamp the pipe so that it cannot turn, start the die on the pipe while putting oil on the pipe. There is special thread cutting oil but any motor oil will work. This make the cutting easier. Cut about 1 inch of threads on the pipe. Make a couple of turn and back the die up a half of a turn. Do this until you have an inch of thread. Backing the die up gets the shavings out of the cutting grooves. The new threads will be very sharp and will cut if you wipe the oil off with your hand, use a rag. The dies are sized for the size of pipe, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 inch are the most common.
