There are one thousand millicuries in a Curie. The Curie is a non-SI unit of measure of radioactivity. One Curie is roughly the activity of 1 gram of the radium isotope 226Ra, a substance studied by Marie and Pierre Curie.

What is the relationship between a curie and a millicurie?

A millicurie is one thousandth of a curie. Note: milli = .001 or 10-3

A millicurie a unit of radioactivety is?

37 mega becquerls

Milliliter versus millicurie?

You cannot compare volume and radiation.

Which category of the test standards does Millicurie refers to as per the standards given by USP for the radio Pharmaceutical Products?

I'm not familiar with Pharmacy, but Curie and Millicurie and Microcurie define a quantity of radioactive material, a Curie was originally defined as the activity of 1 gram of Radium. Now this has been superseded by the Bequerel, where 1 Bequerel is defined as 1 disintegration per second, but you will find many references to millicurie I am sure. 1 millicurie is in fact 3.7 x 107 disintegrations per sec so it is still a large unit. See the attached link below. You might get a better reply in the Medical Technology category of questions.

What is meant by the terms mCi and mrem?

Ci is abbreviation for curie, which is a unit of activity of radioactive substances equivalent to 3.70 × 10 10 disintegrations per second: it is approximately the amount of activity produced by 1 gram of radium-226. rem: the quantity of ionizing radiation whose biological effect is equal to that produced by one roentgen of x-rays. mrem is a millirem & mCi is a millicurie.

How do you convert count per second to becquerel?

1 Curie is defined as 3.7 x 1010 disintegrations per second, so a millicurie will be 3.7 x 107 dps (or Bequerels as it is now called). This is a total quantity, if you have a piece of material which produces this number of Bequerel it is said to be 1 millicurie of that material. In terms of counts per second perceived by a detector, it depends very much on the design of the detector. For example what is the solid angle subtended by the detector, what type of radiation is it detecting, what is its efficiency in detecting and counting the particles emitted? So there is no simple answer to the question.

How much does strontium-90 cost?

Oh, dude, you want to buy some strontium-90? That's some serious stuff, like radioactivity and all that jazz. I mean, technically, it's not really for sale because it's a radioactive isotope commonly produced in nuclear reactors, so you probably won't find it at your local store. But if you're really curious, you could try contacting a nuclear facility and see if they'll give you a quote, just for kicks.

What words are spelled with ie as in cookie?

Words spelled with "ie" as in "cookie" follow the "i before e except after c" rule. Some examples include: believe, achieve, chief, brief, and field. It's important to note that there are exceptions to this rule, such as in words like weird, seize, and their derivatives.

What is radiation measured in?

The answer is Rads. Did you know that 1,000 Rads can kill a man, while some bugs can withstand 1,000,000 Rads!!!noo its Becquerels or Curie, RADS is an old measurement or nuclear radioactivity of Alpha Beta and Gamma.Actually all of this is true. There are lots of ways of measuring radiation depending an what it is about radiation you want to measure. This may help:Radiation MeasurementsCurie - Named after Mary Curie. This measurement is used to measurehow radioactive an object is and/or how much radiation itproduces.Roentgen - How much radiation is present in the air of a specific environmentRad/Rem - Measure of any type of ionizing radiation including Alpha, Beta,Gamma and 'X'. It measures How much radiation is absorbed by anobject.More on Rems and RadsRad stands for Radiation Absorbed Dose. 1 Rad is 100ergs (ergs is a measurement of energy)Rem stands for Roentgen Equivalent Man. Used to describe and define the limits of people who are around radiation. (How much radiation they can take.) Rems can also be presented as millirems and rems per hour. The Metric version of Rads and Rems is Gray and Sievent.Gray is a precise measurement of the amount of energy the ionizing radiation gives to the tissue it passes through.Sievent takes into account the types of radiation and gives a biological measurement of how dangerous the absorbed radiation is to the body.
