This is just simple maths.

If you need 2 grams of X for every 4 grams of Y, you need to multiply this up to the scale you are given

2x = 4y

4x = 8y

6x = 12y

So you would need 6 grams of element X to make the same compound.

John Dalton believed that atom could join together form?

John Dalton proposed that elements are made of extremely small particles called atoms. He believed that atoms could join together or "hooked" to form elements.

Which ideas did John Dalton teach?

The five main points of John Dalton's atomic theory are as followed: · Elements are made of tiny particles called atoms. · All atoms of a given element are identical. · The atoms of a given element are different from those of any other element. · Atoms of one element can combine with atoms of other elements to form compounds. · A given compound always has the same relative numbers of types of atoms. · Atoms cannot be created, divided into smaller particles, nor destroyed in the chemical process. A chemical reaction simply changes the way atoms are grouped together.

Did Dalton's atomic theory state that atoms of different elements combine in simple whole-number ratios can form compounds?

John Dalton, the father of modern chemistry, said that atoms combine in simple whole-number rations to form compounds.

What did john Dalton combine the of with the Greek theory of the atom?

John Dalton put forward the idea that each element is made of a different sort of atom. Each kind of atom had its own properties such as an individual mass.
