I am no expert, but our lab had been prescribed Tramadol in the past. Now that he is in his last few days (cancer) and running a fever, I decided to give him 50mg twice a day. His joints are "wobbly" and he is slow to get up this past week. The fever is wearing him down and likely causing various "pains" that cannot be located. SO as a precaution/prophylactic - I have started this therapy. He is still eating and trying to evacuate his bowels (mostly with success), but I started him on a diuretic once a day to help eliminate excess water. The lymphoma swelling is causing problems in this area. 60mg of prednisone each morning helps, but I added another 20mg in the evening to aid the advanced processes causing swelling at night. Him sleeping on the cool tile with a fan seems to help with the fever.
