A second answer is supplied in the section that says NOTE. Read it before attempting repairs.

This from a specific brand so may not apply to ALL Liquid solder, but I would think it does: Permatex 25906 Liquid Solder

  • Resists water, oil and gasoline
  • Fills small holes or rust perforations
  • Easy-to-use - no heat or tools required
  • Contains no conductive metal; Not to be used for repairs
  • Suggested Applications: Broken weld lines, trunk compartment or other body parts, battery trays, floor panels

NOTE: No reputable appliance repair shop would use liquid solder on power cords for irons or anything else. The cord is generally replaced as a whole. If things are tight, using a soldering iron and electrical solder can work, but use shrink tubing to close off the joint. (Electrical tape can be pulled loose too easily.) Don't forget to put the shrink tubing on before soldering the wires together. It's kinda hard to put it on after the joint is made. There are tutorials available online for those who might wish to get up to speed before taking on a project like this.
