Glacial acetic acid is pure acetic acid, not mixed with water. The smell of glacial acetic acid is much stronger than that of dilute acetic acid. Other than the greater intensity, the smell is exactly the same.

Does acetic acid have color and smell terrible?

Smell a viniger bottle. It is the same

Hydrogen peroxide peracetic acid acetic acid can these three be shipped in the same box and what happens if they mix?

Peracetic acid is made by reacting hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid. It is shipped in a solution of peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide--it's not stable if shipped by itself.So...not only can peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide be shipped in the same box, they can be shipped (no, change that to "are shipped") in the same container. As for acetic acid...depends on the concentration. If it's five-percent acetic acid, no problem. Peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide are both very powerful oxidizers, and pure acetic acid's flammable, so I wouldn't ship glacial acetic acid in the same truck with either of those other two chemicals, much less the same box.

How you are going to prepare a solutin containing 3 percent acetic acid and 97 percent water?

Measuring 3ml of Glacial Acetic Acid in a 100ml volumetric flask and diluting the same with water upto the 100ml mark will give exactly 3% solution of Acetic Acid containing 97% water...thats all, thank you

How can you standardize sodium acetate solution?

Per Skoog and West "Fundamentals of Analytical Chemistry": Sodium acetate in glacial acetic acid acts as a base in the same way the that sodium hydroxide does in water. Sodium acetate (0.1 N) can be standarized using dry potassium hydrogen phthalate (0.5-0.6 g) in glacial acetic acid (60 mL).

Is vinegar an isotope of acetic acid?

No, vinegar is not an isotope of acetic acid. Vinegar is a solution of acetic acid in water. Isotopes are different forms of an element that have the same number of protons but different numbers of neutrons. Acetic acid is a specific molecule with a defined chemical composition, while vinegar is a mixture.

What is a vinegar radical?

Radical vinegar is the same thing as what is commonly called today glacial acetic acid. It is very concentrated acetic acid.

Is acetate the same to acetic acid?

No. Acetate is the anion (negative ion) derived from acetic acid. Acetic acid is CH3COOH. Acetate is CH3COO-. Acetate ions exist in minute concentrations in a solution of acetic acid and can also be produce by neutralizing acetic acid with a base.

What is the difference between acetic acid and ethanoic acid?

They are the same thing, ethanoic acid is just another name of acetic acid. Just like how murtratic acid is another name for hydrochloric acid.

What is the source of ethonic acid?

If you mean "ethanoic acid", then it's the same thing as acetic acid (vinegar). Acetic acid is commonly produced as an organic acid in living organisms (including us).

Is acetic acid the same as vitamin C?

No. Acetic acid (the 'active' ingredient in vinegar) is structurally, physically and chemically very different to vitamin C (an isomer of ascorbic acid).

Will you fail a breathalyzer if you drank vinegar?

Breathyzers measure acetic acid which is vinegar. This acetic acid is produced from drinking alcohol but is the same co.position as vinegar
