Heat is the average kinetic energy of something. When you increase the heat, you make the particles in the substance move faster.

It would be more correct to say that particles moving in a liquid (or any substance rather) cause heat. So increasing heat causes particles in a liquid to move faster. Hope that helps.

What does heat do to the particles in ice?

Heat energy makes the particles in matter move faster. The more heat, the faster the particles move.

What effect does adding heat have on particles?

Heat makes the particles more spaced out and make it move everywhere

Does a solid expand?

yes, the heat makes the particles move and in the heat they expand.

How do particles in matter respond to heat energy?

They move (vibrate) more.

When heat is removed from a substance the particles start moving faster?

No, heat makes the particles move faster. If you remove the heat the particles will start moving slower as it cools down.

What happens to the states of matter if they are heated?

well im only 13 but i just learnt this Heat makes all the particlrs in solid, liquid, gas move faster so if u heated a ballon ( dont pop it ) it would expand because the particles in the gas would move faster and expand .. Hope that helped

What happens when you heat up a liquid particle?

No, heating a liquid makes it's particles move farther apart (makes the liquid expand). This is most readily observed in an old glass thermometer. As your temperature goes up (as you heat the liquid in the thermometer), the liquid inside expands and travels up the thermometer.

What is an effect of heat on the temperature of an object?

it makes the particles move faster so it expands.

What does heat do to liquid?

It makes the liquid particles move faster. This results in expansion and temperature rise.

What is the transfer of thermal energy when particles of matter move from one place to another?

What effect does the light source have on a radiometer?

The heat from the sun makes the particles vibrate and move and then it make the thing spin. In the shade it doesn't move because the particles aren't moving.

How does the behaviour of particles change ass energy is added to particles?

When heat is added to a particle, it will get more exited and move faster. The more heat you add, the faster the particles will move, and the further form one another they will be. Therefore, adding energy to the particles will also increase the spaces between them.
