As it's a non- polar covalent bond, there is no shift in electron density towards a more electronegative atom - so the balance of electron density is exactly in the middle of the bond between the two atoms. This is only where you are most likely to find the electrons though, as electrons aren't exactly 'positioned' anywhere - it's a matter of electron density, simply the chances of finding them in the middle of the two atoms is greater. It's also worth remembering that a true, totally non-polar covalent bond can only be formed by two atoms of the same type, eg a Cl2 molecule :)

Covalent bond in which electrons are shared equally?

A non-polar covalent is one in which the electrons are shared equally.

When atoms in a covalent bond share electrons equally the bond is said be?

When atoms in a covalent bond share electrons equally, the bond is said to be nonpolar covalent. This means that the atoms have similar electronegativities, resulting in a symmetrical distribution of electrons between them.

Is a covalent bond considered polar if the two atoms share the electrons equally?

No, a covalent bond is considered nonpolar when the two atoms share the electrons equally. If the electrons are not shared equally and there is an unequal distribution of charge, then the bond is considered polar.

Is O2 an example of a polar covalent bond or nonpolar covalent bond?

O2 is an example of a nonpolar covalent bond. In an O2 molecule, the oxygen atoms share electrons equally, resulting in a balanced distribution of charge and a nonpolar molecule.

What are the two subtypes of covalent bond?

nonpolar bond and polar bond are the two subtypes of a covalent bond

What types of bond do H2 have?

Hydrogen gas (H2) forms a nonpolar covalent bond. In this bond, the shared pair of electrons is equally shared between the two hydrogen atoms.

What is the covalent bond in which the atoms equally share a pair of electrons?

A nonpolar covalent bond is formed when two atoms share electrons equally. This occurs when the two atoms have similar electronegativities, resulting in a balanced distribution of electrons between them.

When atoms in a covalent bond share electrons unequally the bond is said to be...?

nonpolar scano:)

A covalent bond is considered if the two atoms share the electron equally?

no. A polar bond is a covalent bond in which electrons are shared unequally. A nonpolar bond is a covalent bond in which electrons are shared equally.

When atoms in a covalent bond share electrons equall the bond is said to be?

When atoms in a covalent bond share electrons equally, the bond is said to be nonpolar. This occurs when the electronegativity difference between the atoms is small or negligible.

A covalent bond in which electrons are shared equally is called a what?

The only time that electrons will be shared equally is when the covalent bond is between two atoms of the same element. The reason for this is that electronegativities differ between each element, and if two elements with a covalent bond have different electronegativities then the electrons will be held more strongly by the element with the higher electronegativity.

What is a covalent bond called in which electrons are shared?

A covalent bond! When the electrons are shared unequally due to a difference in electronegativity between the atoms being bonded it is called a polar covalent bond
