Look for official markings and see if there is any change in color. Try using the biting method. If there are any indentations in the gold after biting it may be real. Also try the magnet test. Real gold is not magnetic, so if it's attracted in any way to a magnet, it's fake!
Take it to a local jeweler if you don't want to put makeup on you line the chain up end and end put it on your face for about five minutes if there is a balck mark on your face if there isn't its fool gold

Well, is very important to know any chain from 10k thru 22k it is not soft yellow gold;but it is alloys composition with copper, bronze, or brass in the soft yellow gold metal. But only in 24k it's yellow gold soft metal!
From the top of my head, there are several ways to approach this. Assuming you're at a jewellers, you will be able to ask. Most jewellers will be more than happy to tell you and have a great depth of experience in this area. If you're by yourself, gold has several properties that are useful for testing. Firstly, gold is a fairly heavy metal. With a measuring flask and water you can calculate how many cubic centremeters of gold you have, then with some scales calculate the weight per cubic centremeter (or millilitre if you will), and compare this to what it should be (you should be able to find out the numbers you're afer from google). Secondly, gold does not set of metal detectors, so if you have this, it can form as a second test. I'm sure there are plenty of other ways to test as well, just look around on google :)
You can determine if your ring is real gold by looking for a hallmark or stamp indicating the purity of the gold (e.g. 14k, 18k). You can also conduct a simple at-home acid test, where real gold will not react to nitric acid. If you're still uncertain, consider getting it tested professionally by a jeweler.
If by golf chain you mean a golf themed key chain, you can take it to a jeweler and have them examine the key chain to see what kind of gold it is.
No.
made in Korea. 99.9% of time is goldplated, not solid gold. Only way to tell is acid test.

The man who found gold was James Marshill. There could be other people who found gold that time but they didnt want to tell or not bother to tell.
To determine if a necklace chain is made of gold, you can look for markings such as a karat stamp (e.g., 14k, 18k), which indicates the purity of the gold. Additionally, you can perform a simple acid test using a gold testing kit, or take the chain to a jeweler for professional evaluation.

I don't know, i was hoping you could tell me.
You could take it to a jewelers and have them check for you.
If you don't provide the weight of the chain, how is anyone supposed to be able to tell you what its worth? Thats how gold is valued, by weight, not by where it was made.
325 does not mean 18ct white gold. Whoever is saying that is sadly mistaken. It means it’s sterlin silver. Now it might be gold plated or whatever after the piece was made but that’s it. I have a chain in my hand now with Italy on one side and 325 on the other. Its gold but has tarnished at an extremely fast rate. I’d love for someone to tell me this is white gold. Clowns I tell ya.
Probably Not. You can usually tell if its legit or not by the way it looks. I ordered from a website that looked exactly like that and they were knockoffs.
