Temperature (heat) is the kinetic energy of the atoms/molecules that make up something. The more kinetic energy they have, the more they move around. As they move around they are "diffusing" in that they may end up in a different place to their start point. So increased temperature increases the rate of diffusion.

Increasing the temperature results in an increase in the kinetic energy (how fast the molecules move), and thus will increase the rate of diffusion, because the faster the molecules move, the faster they will diffuse.

An increase in temperature results in an increase in the speed at which particles are moving. In return, the high speed of moving particles lead to an increased rate of diffusion.

This is because the cells would be moving faster with the heat. The higher the temperature, the faster this process will go.

Why is diffusion faster in summer than in winter?

The rate of diffusion is increased when the temperature is higher (the movement of particles is increased).

Why is diffusion faster in summers than in winters?

The rate of diffusion is increased when the temperature is higher (the movement of particles is increased).

What influences the rate of diffusion?

The rate of diffusion increases with temperature. The rate of diffusion also increases with the concentration gradient and the surface area.

What factors most affect the rate of diffusion in a liquid or agas?

Two factors which determine the rate of diffusion of a liquid in another liquid include temperature and particle size. The higher the temperature, the faster diffusion takes place, and the smaller the particle, the faster diffusion takes place.

What factor affects the rate of diffusion?

Diffusion refers to the process where substances from a highly concentrated area move to a place with a lower concentration. The three factors that affect the rate of diffusion are temperature, concentration gradient and the molecular weight of the substances.

How does low temperature affect diffusion?

I'm pretty sure it would slow down the rate of diffusion, because higher tempuratures increase the rate of diffusion.

How does the rate of diffusion in a gelatin at room temperature compare with the rate of diffusion in water at the same temperature?

The rate of diffusion in gelatin at room temperature is very slow. This is especially compared to the rate of diffusion in water at the same temperature.

What factors affect the diffusion rate?

Diffusion refers to the process where substances from a highly concentrated area move to a place with a lower concentration. The three factors that affect the rate of diffusion are temperature, concentration gradient and the molecular weight of the substances.

Why do you think temperature affect rate of diffusion?

Temperature affects the rate of diffusion, by speeding up the movement of molecules. For example it kind of like when going from water to steam. The water molecule get heat added and speed up, like that of diffusion.

How does temperature affect rate of diffusion?

Faster diffusion will take place if the surroundings are warmer. Increase in temperature means an increase in molecules' speed (kinetic energy). So the molecules move faster and there will be more spontaneous spreading of the material which means that diffusion occurs more quickly.

How do temperature effect the rate of diffusion?

higher temp = higher rate of diffusion

What three things can affect the rate of diffusion?

Diffusion refers to the process where substances from a highly concentrated area move to a place with a lower concentration. The three factors that affect the rate of diffusion are temperature, concentration gradient and the molecular weight of the substances.
