Ozone is produced: - chemically: by white blood cells, by roots of marigolds, and by reactions involving phosphorous (among others). - by UV light: light with wavelength shorter than 215 nm can break apart an oxygen molecule. Some of this singlet oxygen can join with O2 to form (eventually) ozone (O3). - by electrical discharge (corona): electrons lauched across a gas (and sometimes water) that contains oxygen will do much the same thing as the UV light. In industry, it is most common for ozone to be intentionally produced by the corona method in gas that may or may not be pressurized to 1 atmosphere.

Ozone production in general:
Ozone in the ozone layer is formed when UV-C from the Sun dissociates an oxygen molecule, and some of those now-loose oxygen molecules connect with an oxygen molecule to form ozone.

Ozone in a rain storm is made by lightning dissociating oxygen molecules, and the rest occurs as above. (Similar story for waterfalls, believe it or not...)

Ozone in tropospheric ozone pollution is directly made by internal combustion engines, but mostly by photoproduction when NOx (from combustion exhaust), and VOC (unburned fuel and "cow farts") are converted by violet or more energetic light into ozone and nitrogen gas (and the VOC just moves on).

Ozone in medical / industry / water treatment is made either by UV lamps (for low concentrations) or by electrical discharge dissociating oxygen molecules, and the rest occurs as above.

Ozone in the bloodstream is made by white blood cells (along with other powerful oxidants) in very tiny areas, when fighting infection at a site. The resultant of this fight is called "inflammation" or "swelling".

Ozone is produced when a single molecule of oxygen in presence of ultraviolet radiations undergo splitting to form two atoms of nascent oxygen.

This nascent oxygen then reacts with a single molecule of oxygen to form ozone.

Ozone is O3. It's formed mainly from oxygen gas, O2; three molecules of O2 can recombine to form two molecules of ozone. This requires energy, such as ultraviolet light or electricity, since ozone is less thermodynamically stable than diatomic oxygen.

Ozone formation is a chemical process. When oxygen is treated with UV radiations oxygen gets converted into ozone.

Is the ozone layer made out of edam cheese?

No, edam's cheese is not at all related to ozone. It is a layer made up of ozone molecules. The molecules are present in order to protect us.Not it is not made of cheese. There is no edam cheese in the ozone layer.
