Scotch-Brite pads are made by bonding abrasive particles, such as aluminum oxide or silicon carbide, to a non-woven mesh of synthetic fibers with a resin binder. This process creates a durable and flexible cleaning pad that can effectively scrub surfaces without scratching. The pads are then cut into various shapes and sizes for different cleaning applications.
If you are trying to remove soap scum, use Comet bathroom spray. Let it sit for a few minutes and scrub with a Scotchbrite pad, then rinse. Comet bathroom spray has citric acid, which will break down the soap scum. It does work.

If your piece is something tough like a chain, I would do the following First of all soak it in a glass of warm water with a little washing up liquid to get the dirt off. Then try soaking in a solution of water and malt vinegar. Lightly buff with the edge of a scotchbrite pad or similar, to get any resistant deposits off. Then wash and buff with a soft cloth. Be much more careful if the piece has paste or pearls as you shouldn't get it wet. Try a soft toothbrush perhaps with a tiny bit of metal polishaand take care.

Made
"Made of" and "Made from" can mean the same thing. "That can is made from aluminum." "That can is made of aluminum." However, they can't be used the same in every situation. You can say: "That house is made of wood and made from workers." But you can't say: "That house is made of workers and made from wood."
