If you are doing the naked egg experiment you are supposed to put it in the refrigerator for about 24 hours. for other information on the other steps go on www.exploratorium.edu/cooking/eggs/activity-naked.html that is where i got my information from. i

Yes! Egg shell is composed primary from Calcium and vinegar dissolve Calcium.

I think it is because the coke goes flat once it is opened and left out for awhile the acid is not as strong The reason the eggshell does not dissolve in the Coke is that the acid in Coke is phosphoric acid and calcium phosphate has a very low solubility. Calcium acetate is highly soluble so vinegar will easily dissolve the eggshell. Note that the phosphoric acid in the coke will do a pretty good job of cleaning lightly rusted cast iron or steel.

It takes a while.
depends on size. small amounts dissolve faster than big amounts

* You disintegrate an eggshell by leaving it in Acetic Acid (VINEGAR), take out when disintegrated. hope this helped :O
it takes up to 5 to 7 days to turn rubbery.

Cavemen do not dissolve.
Eggshells are calcium carbonate. The acetic acid in vinegar attacks the carbonate, releasing carbon dioxide gas and leaving calcium acetate, which is soluble. Other examples of this include calcium deposits from hard water, pearls, and bones. The calcium carbonate in the eggshell has a pH of around 9, which chemically makes it a base. The acetic acid in the vinegar has a pH of around 2.4, which makes it an acid. When the two come in contact, a chemical reaction happens, and the changes happen as listed earlier.
ten minutes. :-)
