MgO
Magnesium: 2 Valance Electrons (Charge is +2)
Oxide: 6 Valance Electrons (Charge is -2)
Hint: Oxide has a charge of -2 and so does Oxygen. Check the Periodic Table for the elements that have a -2 charge (group 16) and you will find oxygen as the first element in that group. Periods define how many energy levels the element has, just so you know. Oh and this is ionic.
Hope this helps!
Nitrogen oxide, with the chemical formula NO, has a total of 12 valence electrons - 5 from nitrogen and 6 from oxygen, with an additional electron due to the negative charge.
NO2 Nitrogen has 5 valence electrons Oxygen has (6*2) =12 valence electrons therefore, the total number of valence electron =12 +5 = 17valence electrons.
Sodium oxide has a total of 8 valence electrons (1 from sodium and 6 from oxygen) because sodium is in group 1 and oxygen is in group 6 of the periodic table.
Indium has 3 valence electrons.
8 valence electrons- 1s22s2p63s2p6

The number of valence electrons in N and O is five and six, respectively. The total number of valence electrons in N2O is 16.

Depends on what you mean by number of electrons. Calcium has 20 electrons and oxygen has 8 electrons for a total of 28 electrons. But if you mean how many VALENCE electrons, then the calcium has 2 and the O has 6 for a total of 8 valence electrons.

Zinc has two valence electrons.

Beryllium has two valence electrons.
