It is polar because of the excessive amount of Hydrogens and Oxygens over the Carbon. This answer has been proven by many scientists over the world. I, myself, am a 12th grade Chemist teacher and this content is reliable.

It has a dipole moment (in the gas phase) the C=O and C-OH bonds are polar due to the electronegativity difference betwee O and C and this is the cause.
