Miscible/Immiscible

when we say that a substance is miscible it means at it mix with whatever it is suppose to mix with and forms a homogenous mixture. when we say homogenous mixture you can see it as one not two different substance though they are a mixture. just like alcohol and water or coconut milk and milk. with water there are many substances that can blend to it... examples alcohol, vinegar, (well it is right i just want to ad a few points to it ) miscible means a liquid which ca n be dissolved to a liquid not a solid... ; misible liquids do not form separate layer on the surface of the liquids which they or dissolved to ; in case of immiscible liquids , they form a separate layer.

Are sugar and hexane miscible?

No, sugar and hexane are not miscible because sugar is polar and water-soluble, while hexane is nonpolar and does not mix with water.

Are hexane and toluene miscible?

No, hexane and toluene are not miscible in each other because they have different polarities. Hexane is a nonpolar solvent, while toluene is a slightly polar solvent. This difference in polarity makes them immiscible in each other.

Is methylbenzene miscible in water?

Methylbenzene, aka toluene, is not miscible in water. It is miscible in organic solvents such as hexane and acetone.

C6H14 is Hexane C7H16 is Heptane What is C8H20?

octane No, it's not. Octane is C8H18

Is acetone and hexane miscible?

Yes, acetone and hexane are miscible with each other because they are both nonpolar solvents. This means they can mix together in any proportion and form a homogeneous solution.

Is chloroform miscible with octane?

Yes they are mixing. but they are not reacting.

Are water and hexane miscible or immiscible?

Water and hexane are immiscible because they have different polarities - water is polar while hexane is nonpolar. This difference in polarity prevents them from mixing together to form a homogeneous solution.

Is iron 3 nitrate miscible with hexane C6H14?

No. Hexane is a nonpolar substance so it would not dissolve ionic compounds.

CBr4

Is octanol soluble with hexane?

Octane is a non polar compound. Sodium hydroxide is an ionic solvent. So octane is not soluble in NaOH and they together involve in no reactions.
