Ionic bonds consist of a Non Metal and a Metal and the bond has a net charge of 0. a covalent bond is a bond between 2 non metals and has a charge of zero as well. another bond is a poly atomic bond which is between 2 nonmetals but has a positive or negative charge

It contains both. It is formed of 2 ions, K+ and IO3-, which are bonded together ionicly. However, within the polyatomic iodate ion, the Iodine is covalently bonded to the Oxygens.
