Best Answer

OF2 is a polar molecule because of it's bent shape.

Fluorine is slightly higher in electronegativity than Oxygen so electrons have a tendency to be in this area.

The bent shape means the electrons are shifted to one side and the molecule is polar.

Hope it helps

It is non-polar. The electronegativity is stronger AWAY from the central atom.

OF4 would most likely be polar; however, no such compound exists, though OF2 does.

OF2 is covalent, the bonds are polar due to electrnegativivty difference between O and F, the molecule is bent. The molecule is polar as the bond dipoles do not cancel each other out.
