The definition of an ionic bond is :
When electrons (maximum of 3) are transferred from a metal to a non metal atom. Ions of opposite charge are formed and the attraction between the positive metal ion and negative non-metal ion forms an ionic bond.
Sr is an Alkaline earth metal therefore it loses 2 valence electrons to achieve a full shell making the ion Sr2+. F2 is a Halogen therefore it gains 1 valence electron for each of its atoms to achieve full shells making the ion F22-. The arrangement of electrons for F is 2,8,7. Sr is slightly different so we will skip some out and show the valence electrons plus one shell in plus the first shell only.
F 2, 8, 7
Sr 2...8, 2
F 2, 8, 7
Sr loses its 1 valence electron to one F atom and its other valence electron to the second F atom.
Therefore
F 2, 8, 7 +1 = 2, 8, 8 F-1
Sr 2...8, 2 -2 = 2...8 Sr+2
F 2, 8, 7 +1 = 2, 8, 8 F-1
The positive and negative attractions from the ions forms an ionic bond between them creating SrF2. Yes it is an ionic bond.

What is the binary ionic compound for SrBr2?

The binary ionic compound for SrBr2 is strontium bromide. It is formed by the combination of the metal strontium (Sr) and the non-metal bromine (Br), where strontium has a charge of +2 and bromine has a charge of -1.

What is the formula of a compound from Sr and Br?

The compound formed from strontium (Sr) and bromine (Br) is strontium bromide (SrBr2). This compound is formed when strontium, a metal, reacts with bromine, a non-metal, to achieve a stable ionic structure by transferring electrons.

Is SrBr2 a element or molecular compound or ionic compound?

SrBr2 is an ionic compound made up of strontium (Sr) cations and bromide (Br) anions. It forms an ionic bond due to the transfer of electrons from strontium to bromine, resulting in a crystal lattice structure.

What is the formula of the chemical combination strontium and bromine?

The chemical formula for the combination of strontium and bromine is SrBr2. In this ionic compound, strontium (Sr) has a 2+ charge, while bromine (Br) has a 1- charge, requiring two bromine atoms to balance the charges.

Is an ionic compound an example of a chemical compound or is a chemical compound an example of an ionic compound?

Chemical compounds can be either IONIC or COVALENT, or both e,g, Sodium chloride (Na^(+)Cl^(-)) is ionic Carbon dioxide (O=C=O) is covalent. potassium cyanide (K^(+)(-)^C///N) is both ionic an (Triple bonded) covalent. ALL Chemical compounds are bonded either by ionically, or covalently, or an mixture. Metal have metallic bonding. So an ionic compound is an example of chermical bonding, as is cavalent compound.
