This is Mercury, Hg. The chemical symbol reflects the old greek name which means silver water. Quite a pretty name I think.

Mercury.
At STP ( Standard Temperature & Pressure), the only liquid metal is 'Mercury' ( Hg ; Hydragyrum). Otherwise known as 'Quicksilver'.
*Magnesium, is originally in a metal state as it is in the metal section of the periodic table.

When purified solid metal is heated under very high temperature it changes to liquid metal .This liquid metal is called molten metal .
Metallic solid is the meaning of a certain alloy that was probably originally liquid but was then manufactured to become a solid metallic alloy. But in non nerd details; a metal liquid turned into a solid metal.
There is only one metal that is liquid at standard temperature and pressure. It is mercury, formerly called "Hydragyrum".
Mercury. That's why it's still abbreviated "Hg" on the periodic table. Several elements have symbols that don't match their names because ancient people (usally the Romans) had different names for them.
