No. Glass is derived from silicon dioxide, silica, which is reacted at high temperatures with oxides to form a silica/silicate mix, essentially an anionic covalent lattice with metal cations inside it.

Soda/Lime glass is made from silica sand and uses sodium carbonate and lime as a flux. Historically, the sodium carbonate component was made by burning barilla (a coastal shrub).

Potash glass is made from silica sand and uses potash as a flux. The potash was made by burning wood.

In both cases, the result was a fine, alkaline powder. Flux is used to lower the melting temperature of silica sand. Silica sand alone has a melting temperature of about 1600 C and adding a flux can lower that to 800 C or less, in some cases.

So you could say that some glass was made by adding chemicals derived from plants, but not that glass is made from a plant. Glass is made from silica sand.
