Of the elements oxygen zinc and iodine which one is likely to be poor conductor of electricity and a brittle solid at room temperature?

Iodine is likely to be a poor conductor of electricity and a brittle solid at room temperature. It is a non-metal with properties that make it a poor conductor of electricity and a brittle solid.

What Of the elements Oxygen Zinc and iodine which one would you predict to be a poor conducter of electricity and a brittle solid at room temperature?

Iodine would likely be a poor conductor of electricity and a brittle solid at room temperature. Oxygen and zinc are more metallic in nature, which generally means they are better conductors of electricity and have more malleable properties compared to nonmetals like iodine.

Element that is usually a gas or brittle solid at room temperature and is a poor conductor of heat and electricity?

Nonmetals, such as oxygen or sulfur, are typically gases or brittle solids at room temperature. They have poor conductivity of heat and electricity due to a lack of free electrons to carry the charge.

Will oxygen conduct electricity if mixed with water?

No, oxygen itself is not a good conductor of electricity, even when mixed with water. Water itself is a poor conductor of electricity, unless it contains dissolved ions or impurities that can carry electrical charge.

What is best for conducting electricity copper oxygen wood paper?

Copper is the best conductor of electricity among the options provided. Oxygen, wood, and paper are insulators and do not conduct electricity well.

Is oxygen a good conductor of electricity?

No, oxygen is not a conductor of electricity because its in the air.

Is oxygen a brittle solid at room temperature?

No. Oxygen is gaseous at room temperature.

Is liquid oxygen a conductor?

No, solid oxygen cannot conduct electricity due to the fact it is a covalent molecular bond.

Is oxygen a poor conductor of electricity?

Yes, oxygen is a poor conductor of electricity. Oxygen is a nonmetal element that does not readily carry electrical charge in its natural state. Only ions or charged particles in oxygen-containing compounds can conduct electricity.

What is an element that is brittle and a poor conductor?

Nonmetals are elements that are brittle and dull.

Is oxygen a insulator for a conductor of electricity?

Oxygen is not an insulator for a conductor of electricity. In fact, oxygen can facilitate corrosion in metals, which can affect their conductivity. Generally, the presence of oxygen can lead to increased resistance in conductors.

Is oxygen conductor of heat and electricity?

Oxygen is not a good conductor of heat or electricity. It is actually classified as an insulator in these regards. Metals like copper and silver are examples of good conductors of heat and electricity.
