this depends if you class nature as a living thing. hydrogen is found in water (a water molecule is made up of two oxygen atoms and a hydrogen atom) as is oxygen, and plants breathe in carbon dioxide and emit oxygen, oxgen and carbon are found in many living things in nature hope that helped

Yes, carbon is present in lots of non living things. It is present in the atmosphere in the form of carbon dioxide (CO2). It is present in a number of minerals, usually in the form of the carbonate (CO3) radical. Diamonds, which are also not alive, are made of carbon. Pencil lead, made of graphite, is also made of carbon.

In the non-living part of the Earth's crust the most abundant elements are (in order) oxygen, silicon, aluminium, and iron. They are followed closely by magnesium, calcium, sodium, and potassium. Deeper in the earth it is believed that magnesium and iron form an increasing proportion, while iron and nickel are the abundant elements in the Earth's core.

Not necessarily. Carbon is the element found in all living matter. Extremophiles and archaeobacteria are used to living near volcanic vents, so many of their energy-exchange processes are based on sulfur, rather than oxygen. However, all living things are based on carbon on this planet.

Not all organisms use the oxygen molecule (O2) to metabolize food, however, all organisms do contain various compounds, including water (H2O) which include oxygen.

What element is the most common element found in living things?

The most common element found in all living things is not, as you would think, oxygen. It is carbon an can be found in every living organism. That is why organic material gives of Carbon and Oxygen as it rots or burns.
