yes. pH scales use the numbers 1-14 a pH scale of 1 being strongly acidic and a pH scale of 14 being strongly basic. a pH scale of 7 is neutral. so the pH levels of 1-6 are the acids and 8-14 are the basics.

the pH scale measures if something is an acid or alkaline can use pH paper or universal indicator.Numbers from 0-6 are acid and 8-14 are alkaline 7 is neutral neither acid or alkali.

What is the differentiate acid and bases?

An acid is below 7 on the pH scale and bases are above 7 on the pH scale. An acid can be a hydrogen donor, and a base is a hydrogen acceptor.

What is the scale you use to measure acids and bases and what is the range of number?

the scale used to measure acid and bases is called a pH scale. the numbers range from 1-14 and go as following- to show an acid= 1-6 nuetral= 7 to show a base= 8-14

What is the differentiate between acids and bases?

An acid is below 7 on the pH scale and bases are above 7 on the pH scale. An acid can be a hydrogen donor, and a base is a hydrogen acceptor.

What is the pH indicator scale?

it indicate the acid and base of the scale

What is the short note on pH scale?

an instrument which is used to measure the strenght of acid and base is called PH scale.

Who use the pH scale?

The pH scale is used in chemistry when dealing with acids and bases. The scale is also used in other areas. pH values are important in environmental work as well. You can measure the acid level in lakes (caused by acid rain) and regulate it by adding Kalcium to the water. The Kalcium neutralize the acids and lower the pH value.

How do scientists measure the strength of acids and bases?

they use the pH scale

What can be used to obtain a measure of strength of acid rain?

The pH scale

What chemically does the pH scale measure?

all acids and bases. to the right at bases to the left are acids

What is an acid on the pH scale?

An acid is any substance below 7.0 on the pH scale. The lower the number, the stronger the acid. For instance, hydrochloric acid (HCl) in the stomach is typically at pH 1.0 - 2.5. The scale can range into negative numbers, but most substances are above pH 0.

Does a acid have a pH value above 7?

No, acids pH values are lower than 7( 0 to 7 ) on the pH scale. Bases are higher ( 7 to 14 ) on the pH scale.

Describe in detail the pH scale for acids and bases?

the pH scale goes from 0 to 14. 0-3 is strong acid (eg. hydrochloric acid), 4-6 is not strong acid. 7 is neutral, eg. water. 8-10 is not strong alkali (base) and 11-14 is strong alkali (eg.sodium hydroxide)
