Steel is the name for several alloys of iron with other substances to improve its strength, or its corrosion resistance, or some other property. Since there is no one substance called 'steel' but a whole group, then it cannot be a pure substance. By chemistry definitions there are only 2 pure substances, elements and compounds.
The main element from which steel is made is Iron (Fe) but steel is not pure - (not just iron) it is an alloy of iron and other elements, primarily carbon. Element MUST be pure substances and if steel were pure it would be Iron.
Steel is an alloy- which is a compound, or intermixture. So it is not an element or pure substance.
No, not if its made of steel, but yes if its made of pure iron :) :P xx
Tip of the screw driver needs to be magnetic and strong simultaneously, so pure iron or pure stainless steel cannot be used. This is so because pure stainless steel cannot be magnetized and pure iron is not strong. What we use is called the mid steel. Mid steel has 98% of iron and 2% of strengthening materials. It is both strong and magnetic. This is why we use steel (mid steel) in making screw drivers.
a combination of elements. its not pure
An inpure chemical boil over a range of temperature. While, a pure solution melt at a fixed temperature.
Pure Steel Records was created in 2006.
Usually from metals such as steel and nickel. Like pure steel, nickel wrapped steel, pure steel etc

no it is not they are the same

There are many different types of steel. It would depend on the specifications of the steel.
cooper is a pure metal
It burns faster in pure oxygen.
