When an Ammonium solution (NH4OH or simply NH3 with water) is added to Copper Sulfate (CUSO4), it forms what we call a "complex". It is called the Tetraamminecuprate(II) complex. The color of the soultion is deep blue and may form a white precipitate.

Here's the reaction:

Cu2+ + 4NH3 -----> Cu(NH3)4 (with a 2- charge)

Only copper reacts with the ammonium, so there is no need to include the sulfate (SO4) and the hydroxide (OH-)

What is the reaction between ammonia and sulfuric acid?

The reaction between ammonia (NH3) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4) produces ammonium sulfate [(NH4)2SO4]. This reaction is an acid-base neutralization reaction where ammonia acts as a base and sulfuric acid as an acid, resulting in the formation of a salt.

What is the formula of sulfuric acid and ammonia?

The reaction between sulfuric acid and ammonia creates ammonium sulfate. H2SO4 + 2 NH3 = (NH4)2SO4

What type of reaction occurs when ammonia and sulphuric acid react to form ammonium sulphate?

The reaction between ammonia and sulfuric acid to form ammonium sulfate is a neutralization reaction. In this reaction, ammonia, a base, reacts with sulfuric acid, an acid, to form a salt, which is ammonium sulfate, along with water.

What is the chemical equation for the neutralization reaction of sulfuric acid by ammonia?

OPLPOPP

Can sulfuric acid react with the alkaline gas?

Yes,they can undergo a neutralization reaction, the reaction between sulfuric acid and ammonia is feasible.

What is the chemical equation of ammonia with sulfuric acid?

Sulfuric acid just adds a proton to ammonia to give ammonium: H+ + NH3 -> NH4+ or H2SO4 + NH3 -> NH4+ + HSO4-

300 g of ammonia react with 36 moles of sulfuric acid to produce ammonia sulfate how many moles of excess sulfuric acid are left over after the reaction is complete?

26.9 - 27.4

What are the differences between ammonia and sulfuric acid?

Ammonia is a weak base, while sulfuric acid is a strong acid. Ammonia is a compound made of nitrogen and hydrogen, while sulfuric acid is made of sulfur, hydrogen, and oxygen. Ammonia has a pungent smell, while sulfuric acid is odorless.

Ammonia and sulfuric acid?

Mixing ammonia and sulfuric acid can be dangerous as it forms ammonium sulfate, a strong acid. This reaction releases heat and produces toxic fumes. It is important to handle these chemicals with caution and in a well-ventilated area.

Why ammonia cannot be dried up using concentrated sulfuric acid?

Ammonia reacts with sulfuric acid to form ammonium sulfate, which is not volatile and therefore cannot be easily separated from the ammonia. This reaction also generates heat and can potentially release toxic gases, making it an unsafe and inefficient method for drying ammonia.

Will ammonia neutralise sulphuric acid?

Yes. Ammonia is a base that will neutralize sulfuric acid.

What will Ammonia and Sulphuric Acid React to form?

Ammonium sulphate is a fertiliser that can be made by the neutralisation reaction between Ammonia and Sulphuric acid
