alkalis are: toothpaste and oven cleaner

acids: vinigar, citrus based things x

+alkalis are bases which dissolve in water. most bases do not dissolve in water but if they do we call it alkali example = bleach and sometimes medicine

acids are chemicals. some are weak, some are strong. weak acids make food taste sour and can make your teeth feel rough. examples = citric fruits and tomatoes (citric acid), sour milk and yogurt (lactic acid) and stinging plants like nettles and some biting ants (formic acid).
