Thioacetamide is used to provide metal sulphides, which will produce colour for comparison of test and standard (Pb ppm). M2+ + CH3C(S)NH2 + H2O ----> MS + CH3(CO)NH2 + 2H+
Where, M is metal ion, CH3C(S)NH2 is Thioacetamide, MS is Metal sulphide.
