What are advantages of metal?

there are many types of metals with all different benefits. some are very strong and can with hold a lot of pressure of bending where as others may be very easily broken and therefore useless in some situations.

Natural substances are such as cotton, timber, stone, bamboo, and so on. Even here some manufacture may be involved. Generally, natural substances are less durable, or have some other defect limiting their use.

Manufactured substances are often chosen for they have attributes not found in nature. Waterproofness, strength, and durability would be examples of these desired properties.

Metals are a class of materials used for their superior properties. (Gold is an isolated example where the metal is useful in its natural condition.) We may recover aluminium/aluminum from bauxite, its ore found in nature. This light metal is very useful in the household; pots and pans; airplane construction, where its light weight is desired; electrical conductors where its conductivity of electricity is useful.

Copper is another commonly used metal. Simple to recover from its ores, and is ornamental, reasonably durable, moderately corrosion resistant, easy to work, a good electrical conductor ... .

Alternative choices of materials from 'natural' or 'metal' would be 'plastics' or 'ceramics'.
