I'm a bit confused on the question, there are alot more than two types of substances in existence. If your asking about the Reactivity of substances they are broken into two categories, Acids and Bases.

Acids have a ph of 6 or lower.

Bases have a ph of 8 or higher.

Neutrals have a ph of 7. A neutral is eather pure, clean water, or a mixture of both acid and base that balance out the ph of the substance.
