If under too much pressure hair line cracks called crazing form on the surface. Perspex can be bleached by chemical cleaning products. It can be scratched. High gathering of static electricity means dust forms on the surface so cleaning is required more often. Is hard to drill because it is prone to cracking under stress.

It's fragile, and dangerous if it cuts you. It's quite heavy. You can see through it, which can be a disadvantage if you're hiding behind it from someone who's trying to kill you. It can cut your feet if you're not wearing shoes as in the movie Die Hard.
