Thermometers and Barometers mostly. Because of it's low melting point and high density, it's very sensitive to weather, therefore making it widely used in weather tools. It is also used in flourescent bulbs and street lights. Because it is a good conducter of electricity, it's used in tilt switches. These are the only uses i know of, I'm sure there is more just because Mercury is such a cool element, but i hope this helped.
Mercury is used in electrical switches of thermostats and certain types of doze alarm-type alarm clocks, according to the College of Natural Resources at the University of California, Berkeley (CNR). The place where people probably see it most commonly is in the new light bulbs: the compact fluorescent light bulbs.
Here are just a few:
Athletic shoes, thermometers, barometers
Mercury is mostly used for thermometers, manometers, switches, sodium chloride electrolysis, polarography, amalgams, lamps, etc.
Its been used in almost every thermometer that was not electric but had the red stuff in it
One main use for mercury is for thermometers
It is used in thermometer's.
it is used for sniffing my bum fluff.
mercury is an element

Mercury is an element. It is identified on the Periodic Table as "Hg."
Mercury is an element that is also a liquid. It is in the Periodic Table and is #80.
Mercury is used as a good substance to measure temperature and is a lovely silver color, but its uses today are fewer than they were back in the 1700-1800s.
you will allways see mercury in conventional thermometers.
Mercury can be used in thermometers, When the heat rises, the mercury- seeing as it is a metal- expands and rises up the thermometer, henceforth telling you the temperature, Mercury can also be used in Batteries.

No, the planet Mercury is just called Mercury. The element Mercury (Hg) is a chemical element and has nothing to do with the naming of the planet Mercury.
There are no uses for mercury.
