You answered your own question. Oxygen and Acetylene. Other mixes are now used in place of Acetylene so the process is now called Oxy-Fuel.
n - Oxygen and Acetylene are the original gasses that are used for welding/cutting. Newer mixtures are slowly replacing Acetylene as a fuel. These gasses don't always reach the temperatures attained by Acetylene. Us old-timers still prefer Acetylene.
The chemical acetylene is used as a fuel some times, and a chemical building block. It is used in Oxyacetylene welding. It has other uses such as hardening steel, and it was once used to light up towns via street lights.
Oxy-Acetylene. A mixture of oxygen and acetylene. Commerically it is still acetylene, however, its chemical name is 'ethyne'. Its structure is 'H-C///C-H'. NB The symbol '///' repreent a triple bond between the two carbons.
Acetylene is a flamable gas but while burning alone will not produce enough heat. Therefore, bringing in oxegen into the party raises the temperature of the flame. After the welder retains the proper ratio of Acetylene and oxegen, which is 1:1, the welder can start to heat the work piece til he/she forms a weld puddle and can use a filler rod to fuse two or more pieces of like metals together. Much more than just this but I believe I have the jest of it.
For welding manganese and carbon steel, an E7018 electrode or rod is commonly used. This type of electrode provides strong and sturdy welds with good impact properties, making it suitable for joining these two materials. It is important to follow proper welding procedures and techniques when working with manganese and carbon steel to ensure a successful weld.
Oxyacetylene Welding is not used in high responsibility fusion welding because fusion welding requires two metals to be fused without melting whereas Oxyacetylene Welding involves the melting of metals so this process is not suitable. By Makeveli
The two noble gases commonly used to protect during welding are argon and helium. They are used to create an inert atmosphere that shields the molten metal from reacting with oxygen and nitrogen in the air, preventing oxidation and ensuring a strong, clean weld.
A welding cable is used for joining or linking up wires or cable. Welding is the process of joining two things together, and the cable is the connector.

Mainly In spot welding & resistance welding two type welding machines are used :- 1. Air Cooled & 2. water Cooled.
When two pieces of metal are joined by welding they become one as if they were made that way. Welding replaced riveting and reduced the amount of metal used while producing a stronger joint.
Welding gas can refer to two things. In torch welding, it is either a fuel gas such as acetylene or MAPP or oxygen, and in arc welding (MIG, TIG, etc...) it refers to any of the inert gases such as carbon dioxide or argon that is pumped over the weld pool to protect it from atmospheric contaminants.
filler materials are used to fill the gap between the two job materials during the welding process

when two tacks need to be put together
The main difference between these two types of welding is that GTAW uses gases to create the weld whilst SMAW uses an an electrical current. Both are very popular welding processes.
seam welding is a process that produces a weld at the faying surfaces of two similar metals where its used depends on which metal you look to weld
