Along coasts, this is caused by winds blowing at a right angle to the shoreline. The surface water is pushed away, bringing deep, cold water (rich in nutrients) to the surface.

upwelling Denser water from the deep ocean can come up to the surface in an upwelling Generally, an upwelling occurs along the coast when wind blows water strongly away from the shore. As the surface water is blown away from the shore, colder water from below comes up to take its place.
heat causes pressure, pressure causes friction, friction causes spark, spark causes KABOOM! all in a split second

An increase in temperature of the substance causes it to expand.
What causes a high PH level in the blood
Wind
It causes it to stop or lessen.
The cold water contains high concentrations of nutrients produced when dead organisms decayed at depth. This causes fish it be attracted to areas of upwelling.
The two steps of upwelling is

When my dad is mad, you can hear the upwelling in his voice.
As one plate dives (subducts), the friction causes massive heat and upwelling of the molten rock
During El Nino upwelling is weaker. During La Nina upwelling increases. During a normal pattern the upwelling rises.
how does upwelling bring fish and nutrients to the surface
An upwelling is when a deep ocean current rises to the surface, bringing nutrients to the surface.
