The nature of gunite pools is the make up of the gunite - it has lime in it. It has high alkaline levels. Also, the make up water may have high levels of alkalinity. Adjust your pH and adjust as needed with muratic acid and monitor your alkalinity by using a test kit.
Temperature can affect pH levels in swimming pools by influencing the rate of chemical reactions that control pH. Warmer water can increase the activity of microorganisms and chemical reactions, potentially leading to a drift in pH levels. It's important to monitor pH levels more frequently in warmer temperatures and adjust as needed to maintain water balance.
A high pH level is typically caused by substances that are basic or alkaline in nature. Common sources include certain cleaning products, soaps, and chemical additives in water. Overuse of alkaline substances or a decrease in acidic compounds can lead to an increase in pH levels.
It can be that there is too much chlorine but this is actually very rare. What usually causes skin and eye irritation is an imbalanced pH. Try to keep the pH between 7.4 and 7.6 to avoid irritation. Low and high pH readings can both cause itchy skin.
A low pH indicates high acidity levels.
To fix high pH levels in a pool, you can add muriatic acid or sodium bisulfate to lower the pH to an ideal range of 7.2-7.6. Regularly test and adjust the pH levels to maintain proper balance for swimmer comfort and equipment longevity.
PH levels make sure water is not to acid.

you'd burn if it was too acidic pH 1 and you'd burn if it was too alkaline pH14 therefore it is important pH levels are neutral 7

ph levels high
MANY different things. The standard set of strips test for: Chlorine levels Alkalinity levels (pH) Acidity levels (pH) Stabiliser Salinity levels (if testing in salt water chlorinated pools)
Possible causes of cloudy water in a pool include inadequate filtration, imbalanced pH levels, high levels of organic matter or debris, insufficient chlorine levels, and poor circulation.

I have never heard of it being used for that purpose and cant find any reference to it being used for that purpose. any acid would lower Ph however that does not mean that it wont have undesirable side effects.
A low pH indicates high acidity levels.
Some examples of foods with high pH levels include spinach, kale, almonds, and avocados.
Just put hydrochloric acid in your water
