Its 2 or more elements joined together.
A compound is made up of atoms that cannot be separated by physical means but only by chemical means(like table salt, which is made up of chlorine and sodium, which are both deadly in their pure forms) unlike mixtures, which can be separated by physical means and hold onto their own properties(Like fruit salad or Kool-Aid).
