Its an amazing element. As to the "feel" of murcury....well it feels the same as if you put a teaspoon of water on your palm. Mind you it's much heavier than water and will slide around without leaving any wetness or residue in its wake.

When I was a child I would occasionaly play with a small amount of it (my father worked on industrial sized boilers) rolling it around in my hand and letting it slide through my fingers. Back in those days the general public knew much less about the dangers, as we see now with all the asbestos issues.
