Argon is one of the inert or "noble" gasses which do not participate in any chemical reactions. Others include helium, neon, xenon, krypton, and radon.

Aside from radon, which is radioactive, all the other inert gasses behave pretty much the same way. They do not combine chemically with any other elements. (There are a couple of cases of radon "combining" in a complex molecule at very low temperatures, but this is more a case of the radon atom being trapped as the rest of the compound freezes around it.)

Which element in the periodic table has properties most similar to Ce?

Praseodymium (Pr) is an element in the periodic table that has properties most similar to cerium (Ce). Both elements are lanthanides and share similar chemical properties, including their reactivity and oxidation states.

What element has similar properties as sulfur?

Selenium has similar properties to sulfur as they are both in the same group on the periodic table (Group 16) and share similar chemical reactivity and properties.

Which element would have properties most similar to the new element?

The element that would have properties most similar to the new element would be an element that lies in the same group as the new element. Specifically, the element with the most similar properties will lie directly above or below that element in the group.

What is a element same as potassium?

Sodium is an element that is similar to potassium. Both are alkali metals in group 1 of the periodic table and have similar chemical properties.

Explain why there should be a connection between an element electron configuration and its location on the periodic table?

An element's electron configuration determines its chemical properties, which in turn influence its placement on the periodic table. Elements with similar electron configurations tend to exhibit similar chemical behavior and are grouped together on the periodic table in columns (groups). The periodic table is organized based on similarities in electron configurations to help predict an element's properties based on its location.

How can a scientist using the periodic table find and element with properties similar to another element?

A scientist can find an element with properties similar to another by looking at elements in the same group or column of the periodic table. Elements in the same group tend to have similar chemical properties due to their similar outer electron configurations. This allows scientists to predict the behavior of an element based on its position on the periodic table.
