What happened between Ron and Hermione in the Chamber of Secrets in Deathly Hallows?

While Harry had gone to the Ravenclaw Common Room with Luna, Ron and Hermione went to the Chamber of Secret to use a Basilisk fang to destroy Helga Hufflepuffs cup. JK Rowling has not elaborated if anything else happened. But... when they leave the Chamber and Harry meets up with them, Ron says something about saving house elves (and because of Hermoine's obsession with saving them giving them rights etc) Hermoine kisses him.
in the last book ron and hermione finally kiss. at the end of the book you find out that they got married and had kids that go to hogwarts with harry and ginny's kids
