Lead(II,IV) oxide, also known as lead tetroxide or lead dioxide, is a dark brown or black solid. It can be obtained by heating lead monoxide (PbO) in air at 450-480 °C. Lead(II, IV) oxide is used in certain types of batteries and as a catalyst in chemical reactions.
